LOVE THIS ENTIRE SERIES! BOUGHT @ WALMART ONLINE FOR $36.82May 16, 2010 What can I say, this is my favorite genre! Walmart Online ONLY item, season 7, $36.82!
And now, the conclusion...Feb 23, 2010 Well, here I am, just after finishing the entire series, and I'm left in awe at what a great series this turned out to be, it's a wonder this series made it past season 1, because let's face it, this series did not start out on good terms (meaning the first season), because it was such atrocious, the acting, the bad hair, the bad uniforms, and most of all the bad story lines, well, thank god Paramount decided after the first season, that this series still had more to offer, and more to do...boy they were so right.
After season 1, this series started taking shape in it's second season, things started to fall into place, the stories were getting alot better, the acting, and everything else, and it's amazing that in season 2, they had a writers strike, so there were only 22 episodes, different than the usual 26, and it's a shame too, because like I said, season 2 is where this series started making it's mark, but thankfully, even with that writers strike, the series still continued.
In season 3, I saw this series jump from a 'solid' series in season 2, to a SPECTACULAR series from season 3 on out, everything from the acting, to the stories, to the characters, to the uniforms, that season is where The Next Generation said 'Here I am', now the fans were convinced that this series wasn't just a re-hash of The Original Series, this is where The Next Generation solidified itself as THE BEST Star Trek series, and this is coming from a huge fan of the originals, we go from solid season 2 episodes such as 'The Measure of a Man' 'A Matter of Honor' amongst others, to GREAT episodes such as 'The Survivors' 'Yesterdays Enterprise' 'The Offspring' 'Sins of the Father' 'Sarek' and a fan favorite 'The Best of Both Worlds Part 1'.
Then we go to season 4, this is where this crew had surpassed 'The Original Series' in terms of numbers of seasons, as well as episodes, and this season shows no letting up from season 3, the excellence continues, we see the conclusion to the season 3 ending cliffhanger 'The Best of Both Worlds Part 2' of course continuing where the first part left off, this is a GREAT Borg episode, this is where we really find out what the Borg are all about, we saw them briefly in season 2, they were introduced, and this is where they come into full swing, 'Brothers' gets back to Data and Lore, Lore wants the emotion chip that Soong created for Data, and Soong doesn't want Lore to have it, because he knows Lore would use it in the wrong way, in 'Data's Day' we spend a day living the life of Data, a great episode, in 'The Wounded' we meet the Cardassians for the first time, in 'Clues' is Data lying to the crew to protect a secret from an alien race?
in 'The Mind's Eye' La Forge is captured by the Romulans, and they attempt to turn him into a killer, then the season ending cliffhanger 'Redemption' this is where we really get going into the history of Worf, continuing from the story arc set in season 3's 'Sins of the Father.
In season 5, we open with the conclusion to 'Redemption' and wait until you see who reappears (guest star wise) and who she's playing!, in 'Darmok' we sort of revisit The Original Series in the way this episode was written, excellence throwback, 'Ensign Ro' this is where Ro Laren first comes in, she would turn out to be a turning point in the whole Star Trek saga, in 'Unification' we see Ambassador Spock! trying to complete a piece treaty between the Federation, and the Romulan Empire, 'Conundrum' the crew is knocked out, and they wake up, fighting a war they don't remember happening, 'Cause and Effect' is one of my personal favorite episodes, caught in a time rift after warp core explosion, the crew are forced to relive the accident again...and again until they figure out how to prevent it, 'I, Borg' the crew discover an injured Borg, and take him aboard the Enterprise to save him, the Borg (Hugh) discovers that humans have their strong points, forging a friendship with alot of the crew, this would come into play later in the series as well, 'The Inner Light' is another one of my favorite episodes, Picard finds himself living the life of another man, on a dying planet, the end will be a shocker! 'Time's Arrow Part 1' while surveying a anomaly on another planet, Data and the landing party discover that Data had existed in the 19th century, and was killed.
In season 6 we open with the conclusion to 'Time's Arrow' while in the past, Data and the rest of the crew must figure out how he died, and try to prevent it...but can they prevent it without altering the future? in 'Relics' Montgomery Scott who has been in limbo for 75 years, and rescued from his shuttle by the crew, and joins the Enterprise D in the 24th century, in 'True Q' a female officer is given the choice by Q, to Q, or not to Q, 'Chain of Command' both parts, what a terrific episode, a selected party of the crew are going to be performing a top secret investigation of the Cardassians, in 'Face of the Enemy' Troi wakes up aboard a Romulan Warbird, disguised as a Romulan, in 'Tapestry' Picard gets stabbed, and dies, and Q gives him the chance to change his fate, in 'Starship Mine' the Enterprise is undergoing an overhaul, and part of the procedure is bombarding the Enterprise with lethal rays...but Picard is trapped on board with a band of interstellar thieves!, 'The Chase' The Federation, The Romulans and Cardassians are in a race to solve an old genetic puzzle, 'Frame of Mind' Riker is trapped in an alien mental hospital, with no memory of his time aboard the Enterprise...but things start coming back to him, in 'Rightful Heir' we meet the greatest Klingon of all...or do we? in 'Timescape' Data, Picard and Troi are aboard a shuttlecraft, returning to the Enterprise, but a temporal distortion freezes time, and the Enterprise is frozen in time with a Romulan Warbird on the brink of annihilation, 'Descent Part 1' Lore and the Borg join forced to take out the Federation!
Then, finally we get to season 7, and there were no signs that this series was coming to an end, ending it on a STRONG note, in 'Descent Part 2' Data (who Lore has convinced has convinced that the Federation is wrong) we all know it's not, they must bring the real Data back to restore order in the Borg collective, as well as conquer Lore to save the Federation, in 'Interface' we meet Geordi's mother...or is it really her? in 'Phantasms' Data is having nightmares, by a problem in his net, and it's affecting the entire crew, 'Parallels' is another one of my favorite episodes, returning to the Enterprise, Worf is caught in a warp, reality keeps shifting, they must find his quantum signature to get him back to his own version of the world, 'The Pegasus' Riker is forced to keep information from Picard, the Enterprise is sent on a mission to find The Pegasus, little does Picard know the reason they are looking for it, 'Thine Own Self' Data is stranded on a primitive planet with no recollection of the past, or how he got there, and the people on the planet think he is carrying a deadly plague, 'Genesis' the crew devolves into prehistoric beings, 'Preemptive Strike' Ro infiltrates the Maquis, who has been firing on the Cardassians, and killing them, then we get to the end, the finale 'All Good Things..." Picard is shifting between the past, the present and the future, in order to save humanity from his own doings, I'm not going to explain it all, I'm not playing spoiler.
Now I just mentioned some of the episodes in the seasons, ones that really stood out to me, but there are many other great episodes, I just wasn't going to name them all, well this has been a pleasant journey (after season 1), and I will be re-watching again from season 2 on, now that I have seen the whole series, this is my favorite show of ALL time, and those ranks are pretty high, 'The Twilight Zone' 'The X-Files' 'Star Trek The Original Series' and 'Battlestar Galactica' both original and re-imagined, but this series stands on top for me, an incredible ride!
Excellent Season!Nov 30, 2009 Season 7 is an incredibly good season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The final episode, "All Good Things..." is arguably, and in my opinion, the best episode ever made. It brings us back to the beginning of the series and allows us to see how far all the characters have come during their seven years aboard the Enterprise. The episode bring the series to a perfect, satisfying end.
The season also has some other great episodes, making this a great addition to any Star Trek collection!
Star Trek: The End of the TimeNov 15, 2009 I bought this season because I had never seen the final episode. I couldn't find the episode anywhere. I have seen roughly 70-75% of the tng series. I started watching this dvd season and was amazed at how good a lot of the episodes were. I haven't seen it all yet, but I think this season is just as good as any of the others. A lot of people say the last 2-3 seasons were bad, but I found that this one is very good.
Love it!Oct 15, 2009 What can I say, it's star trek tng! I'm very happy with Amazon. I've ordered all 7 sets from Amazon directly and I haven't had a single problem. Not to mention they ship UPS and box it!!!!! Some stores ship USPS and put it in a manilla envelope. I'm very satisfied, thank you Amazon!
