 Smallville Season 7May 17, 2010
Great Season, I have come late to the Smallvilee Party and just catching up! very pleased with the show!

Season 7 kept me on the edge of my seat as always.......not a dull moment.

The seventh season of "Smallville" is not quite all over the place in terms of quality, but it still does not quite have the same spark as many previous seasons. This season was also truncated by the writers' strike of a few years ago. Despite all of this, there are some golden nuggets in this set.
One of these is "Persona," in which James Marsters makes a return to the series as Milton Fine/Brainiac. The episode also features Marc McClure, Jimmy Olsen from Christopher Reeve's "Superman" films, as a de-powered former Kryptonian scientist trying to live a normal life as a human being. The concept works surprisingly well. I was impressed with Mr. McClure's acting, and was happy to see him on "Smallville." Another amazing episode is "Traveler," in which a secret strike team captures Clark and places him in a kryptonite-lined cell with a sadistic sentry standing watch.
Episodes which do not work as well include "Fracture," in which Clark takes a trip into Lex's mind. Episodes with similar themes had been done much more successfully, in Season Three's "Shattered" and "Memoria." Additionally, "Fierce" redefines boredom, a nonsensical episode involving superpowered beauty pageant contestants.
Also featuring the debut of Supergirl on the show, played by Laura Vandervoort, and the departure of key regulars, the seventh season of "Smallville" is probably better than it has a right to be because of the sheer creative momentum of the series.
