 Columbo Enters the World of Kung FuJul 31, 2010
Life was, perhaps, one of the best "cop" dramas I have recently seen. Life combined elements of the older show "Columbo" with the philosophic aspects of "Kung Fu." Together, these comprise one of the best cop dramas I have ever seen. I enjoyed both seasons of this show as was greatly disappointed to see it end after only two seasons. However, the episodes we do have exemplify some of the best writing and acting of the genre that I have seen to date. An engaging story from the beginning, Life presents the viewer with a novel concept, a cop convicted of a crime he did not commit, who then returns to the life he left 12 years later, but much changed as an individual. The episodes always carry two themes, one: the continuing story line of his wrongful conviction, and two; the stand alone story of the episode itself. These elements are artfully weaved into an engaging story line that grabs the viewer and leaves them wanting more. I recommend this series to anyone looking for something more than a "shoot 'em up" story.

Loved this show. The video is great. Can't believe I missed so much when I was watching it on TV. Love to rewind and play certain sections again. Dumb TV producers for canceling this series.

To think a great new show like Life only lasts two seasons while crap like Desperate Housewives keeps getting renewed befuddles me. It's impossible not to love Charlie Crews.

It is too bad there are only two seasons of this show because this show is awesome! The acting is great! The chick is hot! And, her partner reminds me of the mentality a Marine would have after coming home from training, or even war, then obtaining a law enforcement career. Great show!!

The premise is not something I remember being done before now. It hads been brought to life with consumate skill by Damian Lewis and Sarah Sahi as well as Adam Arkin.
Watch it and decide for yourself.
