Fan of the Drive-insSep 03, 2010 I grew up in the 60's and i loved the Drive-ins and yet most of the films were awful. I think we were so bored we just wanted to get out of the house. Being under the stars and watching the night light up with that huge light upon that big white screen touched something in our adventerous sides. It was an event and we escaped from our boring lives there. The old Chili-Dilly commercials were even entertaining to us! And those metal speakers that hang in your window, i'm sure a few older folk can still sell you some cheap. This CD collection is a sad but nostalgic reminder of how bad those movies were and how desperate we were for an outlet to escape to and any kind of entertainment would do. Laying on the hood of your car counting stars, fogging up the windows as people walked by to the concession stand added to the exciting experience also and i wonder if anyone could estimate how many children were concieved at the Drive-ins as the soundtracks from these awful movies played in the background? Watch these movies and you'll see why people had no problem doing "other things" while the movies played.
Now see a drive-in movie on your own couch.Aug 12, 2010 Some of those good ol' cult movies from the 1970s are good to watch, especially if you can't get to sleep. Low-bugetd films are easier on the eyes and you don't have to think to hard.
My reason for buying this collection is to see, Best Friends (1975), starring Richard Hatch, 3 years before he played "Captain Apollo" in Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series (1978-79). Finally I get to see the movie unedited and the end of the film I missed.
Best Friends (1975)
Two guys, Jesse (Richard Hatch) and Pat (Doug Chapin) have been friends forever. They even went through the Army together. Now they are civilians agains. The plan is to travel in a trailer with two women, Kathy (Susanne Benton) and Jo Ella (Ann Nolan), on the wat to Stockton. Jesse wants to get married to his lady and settle down. Pat misses the good times with his buddy and wants to travel and have a wild times with him. He doesn't want his friendship with Jesse to end. Pat begins to turn his evil head.
Trip With the Teacher (1975) aka Deadly Field Trip
Jay (Robert Gribbin) helps two gritty bikers, Pete (Robert Porter) and Al (Zalman King) with a flat tire. He tags along with them on his own motorcycle. At a Mobile Gas station, Al, who is dysfunctional and not in his right mind, deliberately loosens the jack until a car and kills the gas station attendant (Edward Cross). They then come across a school bus with a group of four young ladies (Dina Ousley, Jill Voight, Cathy Worthington, Susan Russell) and their teacher, Miss Tenny (Brenda Forgarty) who are stranded. While Jay and Pete try to fix the bus, Al becomes ill-mannered with one of the girls. Miss Tenny tries to get Al away from her. The situation changes dark as Al and Pete make Jay and the ladies walk to a point of nowhere where their is a cabin. The bus driver (Jack Driscoll) is killed. Al and Pete want their way sexually with the ladies. Can Jay and the ladies get out of this situation alive?
Other movies are: The Teacher (1974), Pick-Up (1980), The Stepmother (1972) aka Impulsion, Sister In Law (1974), Malibu High (1979), Cindy & Donna (1970).
Some movies include female frontal nudity and sexual situations.
All movies are rated "R", with the exception of Cindy & Donna, which is not rated.
Two movies appear on each side of a disc in this 2-disc, 8 movie set.

My favorite surprise in the set is...May 15, 2010 ... in MALIBU HIGH:
Throughout the film they've used the SCTV "commercial break" synthesizer cue. Unmistakable!

Cult Classics? No. Entertaining? YES!Apr 12, 2010 As others have stated, there is nothing "classic" or "cult" about these movies since it's unlikely that anyone remembers even seeing them. But for the price, this 8 movie set really delivers the goods with movies typical of drive-ins and second run movie theaters.
Pickup - Two girls get picked up by a guy driving a mobile home type bus. After that things get really weird and your guess is as good as mine as to what the plot is. Both girls take their clothes off during the film so it's not a total loss. Very trippy.
The Sister in Law - Tries really hard to be serious. It goes from a drama about a guy and his affair with his brother's wife to a crime drama about drug running. Again, only the nudity keeps this from being a total bore.
The Teacher - A step up from the previous two if only for the appearance of the drop dead gorgeous Angel Tompkins who plays the titular Teacher. The story is about the unlikely seduction of a student by his Teacher, though no scenes are ever in the school itself. The student, who is a total idiot, spurns the advances of this smoking hot woman several times because he has to "work in his van"! Sheesh!
Trip With the Teacher - The most violent one of the bunch. A group of female students and their teacher who are on a field trip get terrorized by a couple of deranged bikers. The poster of this film is the one used for the cover of the DVD box.
Best Friends - A road trip movie about two friends back from the war with different ideas as to what their lives should be. Things get messy when one of the friends lusts after the other's girl. Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica) stars in this one. Pretty Good.
The Stepmother - The title is misleading since the plot really doesn't revolve around the Stepmother in question but rather around a man who is trying to cover up two murders he committed, one out of a jelous rage and another accidental. A decent crime drama with some nudity to spice things up.
Malibu High - The gem of this set. This one is worth the price of admission alone. An attractive high school student goes from bad to worse as she first begins seducing her teacher for better grades, then turns to prostitution to have easy money and then ends up an assassin for the mob! Great stuff.
Cindy and Donna - All the movies feature nudity but this one excels in that department. Lots of skin around a bare bones plot of two sisters experimenting with sex and drugs. A highlight is a dance routine in a bar by a topless babe who has the best body in the entire 8 movie set.
